A little about me:

It started with a fear of being in the car. Then the sky. I was only 7 and confused. What were these constant surges of adrenaline, and why did I keep looking for the exit sign in busy places?

How it all started: Anxiety

Aged 7, I found myself sitting on a carousel swing. It was a beautiful day, and I was out with my family. What should have been a fun moment suddenly felt life threatening—my hands were soaked in sweat, my heart raced, as if I were in danger, even though I was perfectly safe. As I passed round on the carousel, my mum waved and smiled. I looked at her awkwardly as my hands filled with sweat.

What I didn’t know then that I know now, is that this is how anxiety often shows up -  sending stress signals even when we are perfectly safe and secure.

As time went on, I found anxiety popping up repeatedly; I’d panic on public transport, cars, crowded places, open spaces, closed spaces, sat on my sofa at home. Anxiety was popping up regardless of logic - no matter the scenario, I felt scared.

What I was lacking was a sense of safety, and what I didn’t know then, was that safety has to be found inside of you. You need to feel safe within your body.

When you feel safe, external circumstances become neutral - suddenly that really tall building you were scared to walk past becomes just that - a tall , neutral building.

I can  relate to how you may be feeling right now, because I have been there.

Since then, I’ve been on a journey of transforming my own anxiety through a range of modalities, which has shaped my understanding of how to effectively overcome it.

Helping others through their struggles is my true calling, and this is how I became a Hypnotherapist -  I am here to guide you on your own healing journey.
